H&C Intake
A humanitarian and compassionate application asks a client to account for their whole life, and the hardest part is getting the account out of them. H&C Intake turns it into a guided conversation: you send a private invitation from a signed H&C agreement, and the client answers in plain language in any of eleven languages, on any device, saving as they go. When they submit, AI produces a per-client approval bundle of four documents you review before anything is used.
What you can do
Questions a client can actually answer
H&C submissions turn on establishment, hardship, the best interests of any child, family ties, and health. Those are legal categories, not questions a person can answer about themselves. The form asks in plain language instead, one topic at a time, with Back and Next on every page and everything saved as the client types. They can stop and come back for as long as the link lives.
Eleven languages, chosen by the client
The client picks their language on the first screen and can change it at any point without losing an answer. English and Quebec French are written by hand; the other nine are machine-translated and labelled as such, because a client should know which they are reading. The document checklist and the letters are produced in the language you choose, independently of the language the client answered in.
Nothing is asked twice if you already have it
The signed Service Agreement already holds the client's name, date of birth, contact details, address, and the family members on the matter, so the form arrives with those proposed rather than blank. Every proposal is reviewable and none of it is silently written. What the agreement does not establish is left blank on purpose: it records who is on the matter, not who lives in Canada, and a claimed tie that is not there is worse than an empty field.
Sensitive sections can be skipped, and the skip is recorded
Family violence, medical conditions, and criminal history are asked about because they matter to an H&C application, and a client may not be ready to write about them in a web form. Each of those sections can be declined outright. The decline is recorded as a decline, so your checklist shows a question the client chose not to answer rather than an answer of No, and the explanation letter omits the topic entirely instead of writing around it.
Approval produces four documents, not one
The document checklist groups what to gather by H&C factor and gives a reason for every item, in the client's own facts. Alongside it: a first-person explanation letter drafted from their answers and marked DRAFT on its face, plus support-letter templates for a family member and for a friend. The two templates are deliberately static and mostly blank, because a support letter carries someone else's signature and pre-filling their words is not ours to do.
It stops short of the argument, on purpose
The checklist lists documents and says why each is relevant. It does not weigh them, score the application, or predict an outcome, and a lint flags any sentence that drifts toward doing so before you approve it. The submissions are yours to write. Every artifact is reviewable and editable before approval, and the checklist is never sent to the client.
Encrypted, and filed where you keep the matter
Answers, documents, and the generated letters are encrypted at rest under your own tenant key. On approval the whole bundle can be filed to your connected drives, landing in the matter's Application folder. The audit ledger records what happened and when, and never the client's answers.
How it works
- 1
From a client with a signed H&C agreement, start an H&C Intake. What the agreement already establishes is proposed for you to accept or reject, then you send the invitation. The client gets a private link.
- 2
The client picks their language, answers at their own pace on any device, skips anything they are not ready to write about, and submits when ready. Nothing reaches you until they do.
- 3
Review their answers, generate the bundle, read and edit the checklist and the letter, then approve. The four documents file to your connected drives.
Pricing
The intake form is included on every plan, Basic and Premium: creating it, prefilling from the signed agreement, sending it, the client questionnaire in all eleven languages, and the submitted-answers PDF cost nothing extra. The AI is Premium ($69 CAD/mo or $690/yr, 14-day free trial): generating the four-document approval bundle, and scanning documents from your drive to prefill the form. Both count against your daily AI allowance.
