IRB Specialization Exam Prep

Prepare for the College’s Specialization Exam with a clear study method, official source links and original questions in English and Quebec French.

Every active account member has access, including owners and staff. The 14-day Premium trial does not include this module.

What you can do

Learn at your own pace

Use the optional learning guide for exam orientation, case analysis, evidence, study techniques and pacing. Read it in any order.

Find the sources you need

Search the 33-resource Cheat Sheet in either language. Filter by competency, IRB division, source type, source language or reading level, with a reading goal and study task for each resource.

Practise with 800 original questions

The bilingual bank includes 400 independent questions and 80 cases of five questions. The three fixed assessments use 570 distinct questions; randomized simulations draw from the full bank.

Build your method with guided feedback

Try 18 separate teaching questions, two per competency. Save an answer to see an explanation, record your confidence if you wish, and revisit your first and latest responses.

Work through four assessment paths

Begin with two untimed assessments, then a fixed four-hour simulation. Completing all three unlocks repeatable randomized simulations. Each sitting scores 180 of its 190 questions; the ten unscored items are not identified during the sitting.

Review and plan your next study session

After completion, review answers, explanations, sources and a competency breakdown. Your history stays private to your member account. Use the results to choose what to revisit or discuss in a tutoring session.

How it works

  1. Open the module with your paid or complimentary Premium account. Start with the guide, the Cheat Sheet or guided practice, or go straight to an assessment.
  2. Complete an assessment and wait for the saved confirmation before leaving. Timed simulations keep their original deadline through breaks and disconnection.
  3. Review the completed report, revisit the relevant sources and bring any remaining questions to an optional one-on-one session.

Frequently asked questions

Who can access IRB Specialization Exam Prep?

Every active member of a paid or complimentary Premium account has access, including owners and staff. The 14-day Premium trial does not include this module. No EPE seat, owner approval or separate exam purchase is required.

What does the module include?

An optional learning guide, a searchable Cheat Sheet, 18 guided teaching questions and an 800-question bilingual assessment bank. There are three fixed assessments, followed by repeatable randomized simulations. Links to separately booked one-on-one sessions are also included.

Which exam sitting does the preparation target?

The College’s November 18, 2026 Specialization Exam, using the 2026-002 competency framework and an August 20, 2026 reference cutoff. IRB and Administrative Tribunals carries an 8.8% blueprint weight. Check the College’s own information for registration, eligibility and exam arrangements.

How do the four assessments work?

Assessments 1 and 2 are untimed; Assessment 3 is a fixed four-hour simulation. Completing assessments 1–3 unlocks Assessment 4, a repeatable four-hour simulation drawn from the full bank. Each sitting has 190 questions: 95 independent questions and 95 questions grouped into five-question cases.

Are all 190 questions scored?

No. Each assessment scores 180 questions and includes 10 unscored questions that are not identified during the sitting. Explanations, source references and scoring status appear after completion. Practice results help you identify study priorities; they do not predict an official pass.

How is guided practice different from an assessment?

Guided practice has two teaching questions per competency, separate from the 800 assessment questions. Save your answer to see feedback; you can also record your confidence and retry. Progress keeps your first and latest responses, and guided practice does not unlock assessments.

Is the learning guide mandatory?

No. Read the guide and use the Cheat Sheet in the order that suits you. The guide introduces the exam format, case analysis, evidence and study techniques, but reading it is not an assessment prerequisite.

How do I use the Cheat Sheet?

Search in English or French, including abbreviations such as IRPA/LIPR and RPD/SPR. Filter by competency, IRB division, source type, source language or reading level, and sort the results. Each resource includes a reading goal, a short study task and source links; the index does not replace official sources.

Can I resume an assessment after leaving the page?

Yes. Open Assessments & history to resume saved work. Wait for the saved confirmation before leaving; if saving fails, keep the tab open and retry. A timed assessment keeps its original four-hour deadline through breaks, language changes and disconnection; study resources and previous explanations are unavailable during that sitting.

What happens if Premium expires?

You can read completed reports and finish assessments already started; a timed attempt keeps its original deadline. Restore paid or complimentary Premium to start a new assessment or use study resources and guided practice. Membership removal or account suspension still blocks access.

Are my results shared with my employer or tutor?

Progress is private to your member account within each firm. There is no employer results dashboard, and booking a tutoring session does not automatically send your results to your tutor. You choose which study questions to bring to a session.

Are one-on-one sessions included with Premium?

Tutoring is optional and booked separately. Choose a 60-minute focused session or 90 minutes to explore related topics with your tutor; the home page and guide provide booking links with current prices and availability. Bring your study questions: sessions are educational and do not include personal immigration advice or live-file review.

How do I report a problem with a question?

On a completed assessment’s review screen, select Report a problem with this question. Your note and the question, attempt and account references are emailed to info@investatech.com; do not include client information. The limit is five reports per hour and twenty per day, and an unconfirmed delivery keeps your note in the form.

Does a new login inherit deleted-login history?

No. Deleting a login leaves detached study history, which is not automatically linked to a new login, even with the same email address. The module currently provides no history-recovery control.

Is this an official College preparation program?

No. RCIC App provides original practice content and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the College. Its practice questions are not official or recalled exam questions. The College’s four-attempt limit for the official exam does not limit practice retakes here.

Independent preparation, included with eligible Premium accounts

No separate exam purchase or EPE seat is needed. New assessments and study resources require paid or complimentary Premium; the free trial is excluded.
